Typically patients that live near to our office will attend 2-3 times a week on a tapering off schedule and then be watched regularly until bone growth is complete.
The schedule varies depending on the age of the patient, the severity of the curve, the level of patient compliance with the home exercise program and other factors.

If the Curve is 25 Degrees or Less:

The recommended treatment plan option for a scoliosis intervention program is a
1 week "Intensive Care" treatment plan.
Intensive care treatment generally provides excellent treatment results, in the least amount of time, and with minimal disruption to the entire family's daily schedule. It is characterized by 5 days of treatment with each day's treatment time lasting up to 4-5 hours a day and often 25-30 total hours of treatment over the course of the week.
Following the intensive care treatment, the patient will be provided a comprehensive, customized home rehabilitation protocol designed to maintain the gains achieved during the treatment period, promote further gains in the correction of their spinal curvature, and help the patient increase spinal stability during the upcoming periods of growth spurts.
